Science Museum Group: National Railway Museum (NRM), National Media Museum (NMeM), Museum of Science and Industry (MSI)

Exit research

This contract, first won in October 2011, was for a programme of exit research at the 3 northern sites in the Science Museum Group (National Railway Museum in York, National Media Museum in Bradford and the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester). We won this contract again in April 2016, for a further 3 years.

The programme consists of 5,400 annual visitor surveys across the 4 sites in northern England, plus the completion of respondent monitoring forms, data processing and reporting quarterly. These help the group with their forward business planning.

The feedback from the client is the best indicator of the success of the project:

Tim Neal, Visitor Insight Executive said

‘Working with Spirul has been a collaborative, flexible and rewarding experience. It was a new experience working in this way (having managed everything internally previously)…and, from my point of view, it is now a very smooth operation and I have every confidence that the data I receive from Spirul is professionally gathered and accurately processed.’
